Amazon.com Review Tech Decks are miniature-scale skateboards that bring the thrill of skateboarding to children's desks. With their rolling wheels, authentic grip tape and die-cast metal trucks, Tech Decks allow kids to perform real skateboard tricks using their fingers. Designed for kids ages nine and older, this particular Tech Deck set includes four fingerboards with graphics from renowned skateboard company Plan B. It also comes with a replica grind rail for you to perform tricks on. Built for Extreme Riding Tech Decks are designed to imitate real skateboards to the finest detail. At 96 millimeters in length, a Tech Deck is approximately one-eighth the length of an average skateboard. Its hard-plastic deck is constructed to take even the roughest riding, and features actual grip tape on top. The decks also feature stylish graphics from Plan B, one of the premier skateboard companies today. The fingerboards also come with a small socket-wrench/screwdriver multi-tool, which allows you to modify the fingerboards much like you would a real skateboard. Loosening the kingpin, for instance, will make the skateboard more sensitive to turning. The wheels are removable, and can be loosened to make the board go faster. Just make sure to keep track of all the parts when you're modifying your fingerboard -- they're small and easy to lose. The four fingerboards also come with a miniature grind rail where you can test all of your tricks. It includes eight risers, which you can use to elevate the height of the grind rail for even more daring stunts. Combine it with other Tech Deck props to build your very own skate park. Real-world Tricks on a Small Scale Tech Decks are more than just simple replicas: they are real, working extreme sports vehicles. With practice and a bit of fleet finger work, you can perform real skateboard tricks with your Tech Deck. We found several videos on the Tech Deck official Web site demonstrating how to perform these tricks, which range from simple "ollies" to 360-degree flips. Some skateboarders even use Tech Decks as visual models to help them envision potential tricks. Learn and master classic tricks, or invent your own. What's in the Box 4 Tech Deck fingerboards, multi-tool, 8 risers, and Build-a-Park Grind Rail.

| Customer Reviews: Something for the kid who loves outdoor sports February 1, 2010 A. Joki (Helsinki, Finland) My 7 year old daughter loves outdoor sports but gets very frustrated when she's stuck indoors through the snowy Winter months. This ended up being a good compromise. Funnily enough, she ends up using it with other toys such as dinosaurs, barbies, and Winx fairies.
The one caveat is that the pieces are small. I ended up having her keep these in a zip lock baggie to keep them from underfoot.
My son loves this! January 27, 2010 C. Livingston (Gettysburg, PA) My 6 year old son loves to skateboard and ride bmx bikes. I was quite surprised that he can take the mini wheels off the skateboards with the little screwdriver and put another set on. The ramp is very durable. He takes it apart and puts it back together with ease. He even takes it with him in the bathtub. I would highly recommend this toy.
